RSG! Program staff and WUI subject matter experts will select 10 fire departments and partnering agencies to work with on targeted risk reduction in their respective communities. Staff will help department personnel understand community needs and assist in implementing a targeted public awareness campaign that motivates residents to engage in community risk reduction efforts.
This will include:
- Development and implementation of a public awareness campaign, including a community engagement plan and customized education and outreach tools
- Conducting a defensible space demonstration, highlighting smart practices in fuels reduction
Departments will be evaluated based on the merit of their application and independent risk mapping from both state and federal sources.
